KKR vs GT: Almost Out? KKR Season Slipping Away!

The 24th match of IPL 2026 Gujarat Titans defeat Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. While Gujarat looked in control, Kolkata once again looked completely out of ideas.

KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bat first, but the decision didn’t go into a strong performance. The team managed 180 runs but got all out in 20 overs.

The biggest concern was the batting. Apart from Cameron Green, who scored a solid 79 runs, no batter took responsibility.

Rovman Powell added 27 runs, but that was the only other notable contribution. The rest of the lineup collapsed without any fight, exposing the lack of stability in the team.

Chasing 181, Gujarat Titans never looked under pressure. Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a brilliant 86 run knock, controlling the chase with ease.

Jos Buttler (25) and Sai Sudharsan (22) supported well, while Rahul Tewatia and Shah Rukh Khan finished the job as GT reached 181/5 in 19.4 overs.

According to social media, the biggest issue with KKR right now is not just performance, but direction. After six matches, they have lost five, and not a single game has been won. One match against Punjab Kings was washed out, which means they are still searching for their first win of the season.

This clearly shows that something is seriously wrong within the team setup. Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy has been a major concern. His decisions on the field have looked defensive and unclear. In T20 cricket, you need intent and quick thinking, but KKR looked totally clueless.

This is turning into a big blunder for the team. If things don’t change quickly, the management might have to seriously think about changing the captain.

The batting order looks unsettled, and the team combination is not clicking. Players are getting starts but failing to convert, and there is no strong middle order finish.

At this stage, KKR’s campaign is slipping away fast. Five losses in six matches is a serious concern, and without bold decisions, it will only get worse.

They need clarity, strong leadership, and better execution on the field. Otherwise, this season could end without any real fight.
