GT captain Shubman Gill won the toss and decided to bowl first. The decision worked in their favour from the start.

Chennai Super Kings did not get a good start and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was the only batter who looked settled. He scored 74 runs off 60 balls. Apart from him, no CSK batter could cross even 30 runs. The team failed to build partnerships and ended with 158/7 in 20 overs.

It was a below par total, especially at home, and showed a lack of contribution from the middle order.

Shivam Dube also had a disappointing outing. He could not contribute with the bat, dropped catches in the field, and did not show much urgency while saving boundaries. His body language did not look positive during the match.

In the chase, Gujarat Titans were in control throughout. Sai Sudarshan played a strong innings of 87 runs off 46 balls. He attacked the bowlers and never allowed CSK to come back into the match.

Shubman Gill scored 33 runs, and Jos Buttler remained not out on 39. The target was chased easily in 16.4 overs with only two wickets lost.

CSK bowlers did not create any pressure. There were very few chances, and GT batters played without much trouble.

After the match, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said that the team did not perform well in both batting and bowling, and they need to improve in the coming matches.

This was CSK’s fifth loss of the season, and they will need to fix their issues quickly. Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, looked balanced and confident in this match.
