GT’s Flop Sub: Disaster or Match Fixer?

Yesterday’s match between MI and GT turned out to be a one-sided power portrayal, where a clearly dominant MI went on to crush GT in Punjab.

GT’s replacement for Jos Buttler in the form of Kusal Mendis turned out to be a massive letdown, as he became one of the core reasons for GT’s loss against Pandya and Company.

Kusal disappointed both as a wicketkeeper and batter, dropping 2 crucial catches while getting himself out by hitting the wickets.

This poor display of cricket led to many questioning his intent during the match, with some going so far as to claim the match was fixed, accusing Mendis of allegedly taking money from the Mumbai Indians.

Many are calling for Mendis’ removal from next year’s IPL due to his non-readiness for such a big platform.

With tensions at an all-time high, it will be interesting to see if MI, who single-handedly managed to make Captain Gill available for India sooner, can defeat PBKS in Q2 to take on RCB in the finals.
