How Long Rohit & Kohli Will Avoid Retirement?

The Indian Cricket Team has never been in a better situation in the last decade, winning back-to-back ICC tournaments in the form of the T20 World Cup last year and the Champions Trophy this year.

While Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli took the opportunity of the celebrations to announce their retirement from T20, they did not do so after winning the final of the Champions Trophy.

Rohit Sharma, who is currently 37 years old, will be 40 years old by the time of the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Virat Kohli, currently 36, will be 39 years old at the same time.

So naturally, many have started asking questions regarding the participation of these players in the upcoming ODI World Cup.

While legends like Steve Smith have announced their ODI retirement, making way for future generations, many are expecting the same from Virat and Rohit.

While die-hard fans would want them to keep playing, one can’t miss out on the fact that the writing on the wall has been there for some time, and the legends should step up in the near future, at least to acknowledge it.

That said, a player’s retirement is a very personal decision, and he or she is entitled to retire whenever they think the time is right, no sooner, no later.
