Former Cricketer, politician, and commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu is known for his over-the-top commentary when it comes to cricket.
But what happens when those comments go a bit too far for decency?
A similar commentary from Sidhu seems to be going viral on the internet. In the commentary, Sidhu can be heard making vulgar comments on two girls sitting in the audience.
He says, “This is buy one get one free. I’m not talking about New Zealand’s ‘maal’, I’m talking about India’s ‘maal’.”
This comment angered the social media users, who were furious regarding this kind of derogatory commentary being used at such a big event.
One user said, “Will he laugh when someone says same thing to his partner?”
Another commented, “Pathetic to watch such people at a dignified position resort to such cheap commentary…hope his daughter hears what he said.”
These commentators should not take the audience for granted. People watch cricket with their families, including children, and they do not need this crap of a commentary going into their ears.
It will be interesting to see whether some kind of a penalty will be imposed on Sidhu so that a precedent can be set for the future.
