The ongoing season of IPL is hitting the penultimate phase with the playoffs not too far from now. As the plot thickens, what could be considered the most important match of the season thus far is scheduled for tomorrow May 18.
In this all-important clash, RCB will be facing CSK in a virtual knockout game that will be played in Bengaluru.
If RCB manages to win the game by 18 runs or chases the target set by CSK inside 18 overs, then the Bengaluru side will qualify for the playoffs. On the other hand, even a simple win is enough for CSK to progress along.
The equation is simple for CSK. A standard win will do the job for them but for RCB, they need to win by the mentioned margin if they are to progress for the playoffs.
If RCB does indeed qualify, then this can be regarded as the widest comeback in IPL as the side lost 7 out of their first 8 games and then ended up winning 5 on the trot. This will be a story for the history books in IPL and a lot is riding on the same.
In the event of a rain-washed-out game, CSK will progress to the playoff with 15 points while RCB will only have 13.
