New Face of RCB’s Success: Virat Kohli Sidelined?

RCB fans had every reason to party as their team made a statement in Jaipur — chasing down 174 with ease to beat Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets.

Phil Salt lit the match up early and Virat Kohli put the seal on it with a knock of class and history.

After Chris Gayle, RCB have finally found their next powerplay beast — Phil Salt. The Englishman went ballistic with a 65 off 33 balls and had Royals on the back foot from ball one. He’s scored 56(31) vs KKR, 32(16) vs CSK, 37(17) vs DC and now this — Salt isn’t just a hitter, he’s the real selfless intent merchant RCB were missing.

While Salt was tearing through RR’s bowlers, Kohli was all calm and collected. He scored an unbeaten 62 and in the process became the first Asian player to score 100 T20 fifties — a massive achievement that underlines his consistency.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 75 was the only bright spot for RR but their death overs were toothless. Their fielding was sloppy — two crucial drops, one each of Salt and Kohli, proved costly. Archer and Hasaranga were misfiring and the Royals’ bowling looked clueless.

RCB are not just winning, they’re doing it in style — and away from home. They’ve now beaten CSK in Chennai, MI in Mumbai, KKR in Kolkata, and RR in Jaipur. Dushman ko unke ilaake mein jaake maar rahe hain — and fans are loving this new era.

This surge has also sparked the rise of Rajat Patidar. Fans are jokingly calling it “The Rajat Patidar Era” — some even claiming he’s a better captain than Kohli, though they admit it’s Kohli’s guidance that’s helping him shine.

Salt’s fearlessness and Kohli’s hunger have made RCB a serious team. Salt sets the tone, Kohli finishes — it’s a dream combination. As RCB climb the table, RR are left searching for answers and maybe a bit of catching practice.

Phil Salt is doing what Gayle used to do — destroy attacks before they settle. And Kohli? He’s just rewriting history, one game at a time.
