IPL Rigged for MI? Rohit Sharma Sparks Outrage

Mumbai Indians have made sure to make a name for themselves this season of the IPL, skyrocketing to the top of the points table.

While praises have been going on non-stop, so have the criticisms. MI’s last match against RR was one where Hardik and company completely dominated on-field, sealing off the game by 100 runs.

However, Rohit Sharma’s call to take DRS at the very last second turned out to be a matter of discussion.

At the very early phase of MI’s innings, Rohit was declared out by the on-field umpire. Although he challenged the decision, it was near the absolute end of the 15-second DRS period.

This led to a huge uproar, with many questioning the legitimacy of the review, owing to the fact that the timer had already ended.

While many cricket pundits have come out to defend the call, the public doesn’t seem convinced, leading to yet another wave of talks about Mumbai Indians rigging the whole system by hijacking the umpiring machinery.

With MI’s next match scheduled against GT, it will be interesting to see if the Paltan continues its winning streak as it heads off to Wankhede.
