IPL Suspension: Pak Attack Costs 5,500 Cr?

The suspension of the Indian Premier League, although necessary, comes at a pretty hefty cost for the BCCI.

With each match that is abandoned, the stakeholders and broadcasters are bound to lose almost Rs.125 Crores.

Apart from this, each cancelled game spells huge losses for small cab and taxi drivers, food stall owners, as well as local restaurants who would have otherwise benefited massively from any game in their city.

If the whole tournament gets cancelled for some reason, then it would spell even more trouble for the broadcasters, who would have to let go of a whopping one-third of the Rs. 5,500 Crore ad revenue.

While all these losses will spell bad news, one should remember that the situation itself is not normal. India and Pakistan are on the brink of war, with the Indian armed forces fighting bravely to ward off any attack from the enemy.

People must remember to remain patient and let go of their entertainment luxuries for some time in favour of their country and fellow citizens.
