Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwari has strongly criticised Gautam Gambhir and the BCCI for allowing India vs Pakistan matches, especially after the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
Tiwari Slams BCCI Over Asia Cup Decision
Manoj expressed his disappointment over how quickly both fans and cricket officials moved on from the tragedy. He questioned the decision to go ahead with the Asia Cup fixtures involving Pakistan.
According to him, the move shows a lack of national sensitivity, especially after the attack that claimed innocent lives in Pahalgam.
Calls Out Gautam Gambhir’s Shift in Stance
Tiwari also took aim at Gautam Gambhir, the current head coach of the Indian cricket team. He recalled how Gambhir once opposed any cricketing ties with Pakistan.
“He’s a hypocrite,” said Tiwari. “When he wasn’t the coach, he said India and Pakistan should never play. What will he do now?”
This direct remark has sparked further debate among fans and experts alike.
BCCI Accused of Ignoring National Sentiment
Tiwari didn’t hold back in his criticism of the BCCI. He accused the board of choosing cricket over national interest and claimed that its “spinelessness” was now visible to all.
Many now feel the board is placing tournaments and revenues above the emotions of the nation.
