Mayank Yadav is set to return for IPL 2026 after recovering from a back injury. The Lucknow Super Giants pacer confirmed that he is fully fit and ready for the new season.
Mayank had a rapid rise during IPL 2024 with his pace and impactful spells. However, injuries soon interrupted his progress and kept him out of action.
He missed a major part of IPL 2025 and later underwent surgery. This led to a long recovery period that kept him away from competitive cricket.
After completing rehab at the Board of Control for Cricket in India Centre of Excellence, he is now bowling at full intensity. He said his rhythm has returned after initial doubts.
The 23 year old also spoke about the mental challenges during recovery. He shared that the phase helped him grow stronger both physically and mentally.
It was his first major injury, and he had to follow strict restrictions early on. Gradually, he returned to full training and regained confidence.
Mayank Yadav also thanked the LSG management for their support. He appreciated franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka for staying in touch during his recovery.
Looking ahead, his focus is to remain fit throughout IPL 2026. He aims to contribute consistently and help his team win their first title.
Lucknow Super Giants will begin their campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 1 in Lucknow.
