Mitchell Starc IPL 2027 Availability and Delhi Capitals
Mitchell Starc’s participation in IPL 2027 remains uncertain as Australia prepare for a demanding international schedule.
The Australian fast bowler has yet to decide whether he will return for the next IPL season.
Mitchell Starc confirmed that discussions about his schedule are ongoing, but no final decision has been made. His availability could depend on how Australia plan their players workloads around their international commitments.
Australia head coach Andrew McDonald has also explained why the decision will require careful consideration.
While he recognises the benefits of the IPL, he stressed that players must have enough time to recover before major international assignments.
Australia’s schedule includes the 150th Anniversary Test against England from March 11 to 15, 2027, followed by a busy period that includes the Ashes.
The possibility of playing the WTC final adds another consideration. With fast bowlers facing a demanding run of matches, Australia’s coaching and medical staff will need to assess each player’s fitness and workload before finalising their plans.
Starc joined Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 after being bought for Rs 11.75 crore at the auction.
He took 14 wickets in 11 matches that season. Delhi retained him for IPL 2026, but elbow and shoulder injuries delayed his arrival until April 2026.
He eventually played six matches in the tournament. With another demanding international period ahead, Starc’s availability for IPL 2027 remains undecided.
For now, a final decision will depend on discussions around his schedule and Australia’s international priorities.
