False IPL Narrative Exposed? Starc Slams Indian Media

Australian cricketer Mitchell Starc has strongly criticised sections of the Indian media and cricket pundits. This comes after speculation around his absence during the early phase of the IPL. His response has now sparked a wider debate.

Starc clarified that he is currently recovering from a shoulder and elbow injury. He said the full extent of the issue was not known earlier. He also stated that several opinions shared publicly were misinformed.

In his statement, Starc expressed concern over how assumptions were presented as facts. He added that some individuals claimed to understand his physical condition better than him. This, he suggested, led to unnecessary damage to his image.

The pacer also apologised to the Delhi Capitals camp and fans. He explained that the situation was beyond his control. At the same time, he confirmed that he has remained in touch with the team management.

Starc shared that he aims to return as soon as he is fully fit. He emphasised that his priority is recovery and long term fitness. The player indicated that he would join the squad once he receives medical clearance.

Many fans have supported Starc following his clarification. Some believe that sections of the media went too far with their criticism. There is also a view that such narratives can harm both players and cricket boards.

For Delhi Capitals, the challenge remains to perform in his absence. The team will need to maintain consistency until Starc returns. His comeback could play a key role in shaping their campaign this season.
