SRH Star Mohammed Shami delivered another strong performance in the Ranji Trophy, forcing attention back on his India snub. You saw a senior pacer bowl with purpose and control. Despite this, selectors continue to ignore him, raising serious questions.
Shami picked up a five wicket haul for Bengal and looked fully fit. You could see rhythm, patience, and discipline in his spells. For a bowler with proven Test success, such performances clearly signal readiness for higher level cricket.
Mohammed Shami Ranji Performance Stands Out
In this Ranji Trophy match, Mohammed Shami bowled long spells and attacked the right areas. You rarely see him drift from his plan. He removed key batters and broke partnerships, underlining his value as a strike bowler.
This was not an isolated effort from Mohammed Shami in the Ranji circuit. Since returning to domestic cricket, he has delivered consistent performances. You can see he has done everything expected from a senior player pushing for a comeback.
India Pace Attack Needs Experience
India’s pace unit has faced injuries and workload concerns in recent months. In such a scenario, you would expect an experienced option like Shami to be considered. His ability to take early wickets still makes a difference at any level.
Yet, there has been no clear explanation from the BCCI on his continued absence. If fitness was the issue, his Ranji spells answer that. If future planning is the reason, you still cannot ignore form like this.
Selectors Face Tough Questions
Ranji Trophy remains the main route back to the Indian team. Mohammed Shami has done his job through performance. You are now left asking how long the selectors will continue to look past such clear evidence.
