Kuldeep Yadav‘s inclusion in the test squad has always been a hit or miss. Despite being brilliant at bowling, Kuldeep has never been given enough chances to make his mark in test cricket.
This trend has gotten even worse ever since the start of the so-called GG era. It’s not a hidden fact that GG, as a coach, prefers all-rounders rather than pure bowlers.
This has led to Kuldeep being ignored even more, despite having no fault of his own.
India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel recently came out to make his statement regarding the same.
He said, “Kuldeep is world-class & he’s bowling really well at the moment, so we’re trying our best to find ways for him to get in but unfortunately, with that, just to balance with batting throws it out a little bit.”
The public has been furious at such baseless remarks. The anger has been paramount knowing that Kuldeep is being kept out not because of his bowling, but his batting instead.
This trend has repeated itself so many times that one begins to wonder whether the management has some kind of personal grudge against the only chinaman spinner in the team.
It will be interesting to see if GG and the management finally realise their mistake and rectify things. Because if not, it will prove to be an even more helpless situation for Kuldeep.
