Towards the end of every season of IPL, there is doubt on whether MS Dhoni would prolong his IPL career by one more year. Luckily for fans, Dhoni decided to play one more year after the triumphant run in 2023.
Cut to now, as the ongoing season of IPL has reached the halfway mark, we are again back at the question of whether Dhoni will be around for the 2025 season.
In this context, MSD’s former CSK teammate Suresh Raina was asked if he thinks Dhoni would play another season.
Raina gave a calculated response as he said “certainly”. This confident response from Raina has led to fans thinking that the former CSK star might be having a reliable update on Dhoni continuing for another season and they are already celebrating the same.
For the most part, the ongoing 2024 season is billed to be the final page of Dhoni’s cricketing book, but going by Raina’s comment, it looks like Dhoni has another year of cricket left in him. He will be 43 by the time of next IPL and continuing playing elite cricket at that age would be extremely challenging.
