Rohit Sharma was asked about a possible move to Kolkata Knight Riders by KKR head coach Abhishek Nayar, but his one word reply has given Mumbai Indians fans a big reason to smile.
The conversation took place during Rohit’s new show, ‘Family Full House with Rohit Sharma’. A promotional clip from the show was shared on social media.
Rohit was wearing yellow during the conversation, which led Nayar to tease him with ‘CSK, CSK’ chants. Nayar then took the joke towards his own team and told Rohit that purple and gold would suit him better, referring to KKR’s colours.
The audience then started chanting Mumbai, Mumbai. Rohit responded with just one word. “Forever,” Rohit said.
The response comes at a time when there has been plenty of talk about Rohit’s IPL future.
The former India captain has been with Mumbai Indians since 2011 and has played a key role in the franchise’s success.
Rohit led MI to five IPL titles between 2013 and 2020. He was replaced as captain by Hardik Pandya before the 2024 season but continued to play for the franchise.
MI’s recent results have also led to questions about the future of some of their senior players.
The five time champions finished ninth in IPL 2026 after winning only four matches. They had also finished at the bottom of the table in 2022 and 2024.
However, Rohit’s Forever reply has now added to the belief that he could continue with Mumbai Indians.
It is not an official confirmation of his IPL 2027 team, but the comment clearly showed his connection with the franchise.
For KKR, Nayar’s comments also came at an interesting time. The franchise will need a new captain after Ajinkya Rahane announced his retirement. Rahane had led KKR in the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
For now, there is no official confirmation about Rohit’s IPL 2027 team. But his Forever reply will certainly make Mumbai Indians fans happy.
