The timing caught the attention of fans because Ajit Agarkar had used the same word while speaking about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli last year.
During a press conference, Ajit Agarkar had said that both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were non-committal about their participation in the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Since then, Rohit Sharma’s future in ODI cricket has remained a regular talking point among Indian cricket fans.
Rohit Sharma recently gave another short answer when he was asked about playing in the 2027 World Cup. Speaking at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, Rohit Sharma said that October 2027 is still far away and that the situation will be seen at that time.
Rohit Sharma has already stepped away from T20I and Test cricket, while he continues to be available in the ODI format. His future in the format will become clearer as India moves closer to the 2027 World Cup.
