Rohit Sharma shared a special moment from his life the day he proposed to Ritika Sajdeh.
He told the full story on the YouTube show ‘Who’s The Boss?’ with Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra.
And no, it wasn’t a filmy proposal with flowers and violins. It was even better smart, simple and straight from the heart.
Rohit didn’t say, “I’m going to propose today.” Instead he told Ritika they were just stepping out for ice cream.
That’s it. Just a chill outing. But in his mind he had already planned to surprise her in a way she’d never forget.
After a homemade meal near Marine Drive (yes, Ritika packed the food), Rohit casually said, “Let’s go for ice cream. I’m bored.”
Ritika agreed thinking they’d go somewhere nearby. But Rohit took her on a long drive Marine Drive to Haji Ali, then to Worli and kept going.
Ritika was confused and asked, “Where’s this ice cream shop?” She didn’t know much beyond Bandra. Rohit replied smartly, “There’s a really good shop in Borivali. You’ve never been there so I’ll show you.”
It was already dark when they reached Borivali. But it wasn’t an ice cream shop that awaited her it was Rohit’s childhood cricket ground.
She didn’t realize it at first. Rohit had already asked one of his friends to set up the place and get the moment on camera.
Then came the big moment. Rohit walked to the middle of the pitch, got down on one knee and proposed to Ritika right there where his cricket dreams had started.
This wasn’t just a romantic gesture. It was emotional too. Rohit chose a place that truly mattered to him.
That ground shaped his career. And he chose to begin this new chapter of life with Ritika from that very same spot.
While most celebrity proposals are full of show and glitter, Rohit’s story was different. It was simple, sweet and deeply personal.
It showed who he really is someone who values memories over material things. And that’s what made it so special.
