In a cricketing spectacle that set the stage ablaze, Jos Buttler emerged as the undeniable show stealer amidst the glitz and glamour of the Eden Gardens.
While Kolkata Knight Riders seemed to hold court with a formidable target of 224 runs, Buttler had other plans, orchestrating a sensational turnaround for Rajasthan Royals.
With a display of sheer cricketing brilliance, Buttler’s Herculean effort propelled RR to a dramatic last-ball victory, etching his name in the annals of IPL history.
His unbeaten knock of 109 runs off just 56 deliveries, adorned with 13 boundaries and 6 towering sixes, left spectators awestruck and opponents in dismay.
During the post-match ceremony, Buttler humbly attributed his match-winning performance to the stalwarts of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.
He said, “We have seen Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni staying till the end and finishing the matches, I just applied the same tonight.”
While Sunil Narine showcased his own brand of fireworks with a scintillating century, KKR’s valiant bowling efforts, led by Varun Chakravarthy and Narine himself, couldn’t stop Buttler’s determined march towards victory.
