Shameful Stats: Dhoni on Top, CSK in Dumps

The Indian Premier League, being one of the most competitive cricket leagues around the world, often has a very low margin of error, leading to no room for mistakes.

But forget mistakes, the current form of batters in Chennai Super Kings can be called nothing short of disastrous.

With not a single top and middle order batter looking in proper form, the team has reached a point where MS Dhoni has become the 3rd highest run scorer for the team, only after Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad with 103 runs in 5 matches.

This highlights a serious problem in the CSK batting order, who still think it appropriate to play 2015-styled cricket, risking little to none while taking the game deep until the very last over.

Although MS Dhoni still plays well considering the situation, questions need to be asked regarding the team’s overreliance on Dhoni, especially after his repeated failures to finish the game in the 20th over.
