After weeks of rehab, Suryakumar has finally shared an update on his fitness. His words, “time to go for MRI,” have caught everyone’s attention. The scan will be a key step before his return to the field.

Injury and surgery

Suryakumar’s injury began at the end of IPL 2025. A sports hernia diagnosis meant surgery was necessary, and he underwent the procedure soon after the season ended.

Rehab and treatment

Post surgery, he spent nearly six weeks at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on a strict recovery routine. He also travelled to Germany for medical guidance and regular checks. “It’s been five to six weeks of good routines and I’m feeling really well,” SKY said in a BCCI video.

Learning from past injuries

Interestingly, SKY admitted that he faced a similar injury last year. That experience made it easier to identify the problem and plan his recovery this time.

Step by step recovery

Instead of rushing, he followed a gradual process. He monitored progress weekly, stuck to rehab schedules, and maintained discipline. This kept him mentally strong and physically improving.

The MRI wait

Before returning to the field, he wants one final confirmation through the MRI. This careful approach shows the planning expected from a captain.

What it means for India

If all goes well, SKY is likely to lead India in the Asia Cup 2025. However, sports hernia recovery can be tricky. International cricket’s workload may still test his fitness levels. With Shubman Gill as deputy, India has a strong backup, but fans want SKY fully fit.

A tough call ahead

Can India risk their skipper if the MRI shows even a minor concern? Or will the management ease him back into the team slowly? The final decision will rest with the medical team.

Fans await clarity

For now, Suryakumar Yadav sounds upbeat and confident. Yet, the green signal depends on medical reports. Fans can take heart from his recovery updates, but they also know Asia Cup demands players at full fitness. The answers will be revealed soon.
