The ongoing semi-final match between India and Australia in the ICC champions trophy is very well poised now. After opting to bat first Australia posted score of 264 runs which is less the average score on this surface.
While this target might sound optimistic, and it must also be noted that the pitch is likely to slowdown considerably in the second innings.
India will need the experience and refine the gameplay of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who happened to be the two most experienced players in the side. In particular, Rohit must give a positive start at the top of the order, and Kohli must surely put an end to his bad run of form and deliver a winning performance.
The Dubai surface is not very conducive to batting stroke play and this is where skilled navigation is needed from seniors like Rohit and Kohli.
