Former Indian captain and star cricketer Virat Kohli has been the victim of a brutal verbal assault by Pat Cummins in the promo for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to begin on February 19th.
The video featured Pat shaving in front of a mirror, mimicking how he would roast other cricketers on the field. He started with English cricketer Ben Stokes, saying, “Oi Ben, I am not stokes about you.”
He then made Ollie Pope his next victim, saying, “Hey Pope, you better start praying.”
It was then that the video produced bittersweet emotions in the hearts of Indian fans, as the Australian skipper went on to comment on Virat Kohli.
With a wide grin visible on his face, he said, “Hey Kohli, I have never seen you bat this slowly.”
He then followed it up with a much longer version, saying “Sloowlyy” as if correcting his tone when he would say it to the man himself in person.
Cummins then went on to roast South African cricketer Quinton de Kock, with the words, “More Like Quinton de Block.”
This promo has worked magically in igniting a fresh spark of cricket spirit among fans across nations, who are hopeful that their respective teams will give Australia a taste of their own medicine in the ICC Champions Trophy.
