The first leg of the tournament will be played in Vadodara from January 14 to January 24. All five teams will compete during this phase before the tournament moves to Mumbai.

WPL 2027 Playoff Format and Final Date

The team finishing first in the league stage points table will qualify directly for the final. The second and third placed teams will face each other in the Eliminator on February 5.

The winner of that match will meet the table toppers in the final on February 7 at Brabourne Stadium. The winner of the final will be crowned WPL 2027 champions.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will enter the tournament as defending champions after defeating Delhi Capitals in the 2026 final in Vadodara. It was RCB’s second WPL title, putting them level with Mumbai Indians, who have also won the competition twice since its launch in 2023.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, are still waiting for their first title after losing four finals.

The five teams have already finalised their squads following the auction in Kochi on October 28.

The teams will now prepare for the new season, which gets underway with the RCB Mumbai Indians clash on January 14.
