Yash Dayal has finally opened up about his absence from IPL 2026, and his recent comments have now sparked fresh discussion regarding the earlier explanation provided by Royal Challengers Bengaluru management.
The left-arm pacer played an important role in RCB’s historic IPL 2025 title-winning campaign. However, he has remained unavailable throughout the ongoing season, creating continuous speculation among fans and cricket followers.
Speaking during a podcast interaction, Yash Dayal stated that missing IPL 2026 was not entirely his own decision. According to the cricketer, the final call regarding his participation was taken by the “authorities” and not by him personally.
Dayal admitted that watching RCB from home this season has been emotionally difficult. He said he still feels deeply connected to the franchise and misses being part of the dressing room atmosphere and team environment during matches.
He also mentioned that RCB had retained him and did not sign a replacement player, which he believes reflects the franchise’s faith in his importance to the squad. His comments quickly generated fresh reactions across social media platforms.

Earlier, RCB Director of Cricket Mo Bobat had publicly stated that Dayal was dealing with a “personal situation” and therefore would not join the squad for the season. The franchise also confirmed continued support for the player during that period.
Despite remaining away from the team, Dayal revealed that he is still in regular contact with members of the RCB management, including batting coach Dinesh Karthik. According to him, there has been no communication gap between himself and the franchise.
Meanwhile, RCB have continued their strong momentum from the 2025 season and successfully reached Qualifier 1 in IPL 2026. The team has looked balanced in most departments and remained one of the tournament’s strongest contenders.
However, cricket observers believe the bowling attack has occasionally missed stability in death overs and left-arm pace situations, areas where Yash Dayal made a significant contribution during the previous season.
His ability to bowl under pressure and provide variation was considered an important factor behind RCB’s balance in IPL 2025. As a result, his absence has been noticeable in certain matches despite the team’s overall strong performances this year.
At the same time, Yash Dayal continues to face serious legal allegations connected to separate cases registered in Jaipur and Ghaziabad. One complaint reportedly filed under the POCSO Act alleges sexual exploitation of a minor, while another case involves allegations related to exploitation under the pretext of marriage.
Reports also state that a special POCSO court in Jaipur previously rejected his anticipatory bail plea while citing the seriousness of the allegations. Dayal’s legal representatives have denied the accusations and argued that the relationship was consensual.
However, prosecutors reportedly maintained that consent is not legally valid in cases involving minors. As the legal proceedings continue, Dayal’s latest comments have added another layer of discussion regarding his IPL 2026 absence and RCB’s handling of the situation.
