After Dhanush, Another Headache for Nayanthara

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s marriage documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, was released on Netflix on November 18.

Initially, there was a copyright claim from Dhanush against Nayanthara and Netflix for using behind-the-scenes footage from the movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which was produced by him.

Now, Nayanthara and Netflix are facing another issue related to the documentary. Some clips from the movie Chandramukhi were reportedly used in the series without obtaining proper permission from the producer.

The producer of Chandramukhi has filed a case against Nayanthara and Netflix for using the movie’s clips without authorization and has demanded ₹5 crores as compensation for copyright infringement.

This controversy has become the talk of the town, with many on social media criticizing Nayanthara. Some users have pointed out that the documentary itself was unnecessary and have questioned whether Nayanthara ensured proper permissions for any of the content used.

As of now, there has been no official statement from Nayanthara’s side regarding the issue. Meanwhile, meme creators have started sharing jokes, suggesting that Nayanthara might respond to the producer with another three-page open letter, similar to her past responses.
