Previously, Anirudh Ravichander was the primary composer for Kollywood’s big-budget movies. However, in recent years, starting with the success of Mark Antony, GV Prakash has steadily gained popularity among fans and set high standards for his music.

Although the songs in Good Bad Ugly weren’t up to expectations, the background score received highly positive responses from Ajith Kumar’s fanbase. Many fans even commented on social media that it was one of the best background scores for the actor in recent years.

GV Prakash Kumar has delivered several successful albums recently, including Lucky Bhaskar, Amaran, and GBU. In contrast, Anirudh Ravichander’s recent albums such as Indian 2, Vettaiyan, and Vidaamuyarchi have been considered average by audiences and failed to meet expectations.

Despite GV Prakash Kumar’s recent successes, Anirudh Ravichander still has several pan-Indian projects in development, including Kingdom, Coolie, The Paradise, Jana Nayagan, and Jailer 2.

Meanwhile, GV Prakash Kumar is committed to significant Kollywood projects like Idly Kadai, Parasakthi, and Vaadivaasal.

A few years ago, Anirudh Ravichander was the undisputed leading music director in Kollywood, on par with AR Rahman. However, the situation is slowly changing, and GV Prakash Kumar is emerging as a strong competitor to Anirudh Ravichander.
