Another Dull Diwali At Box Office

Following this year, for the past 3 years, Kollywood hasn’t had any biggies as a Diwali special. This year in Kollywood, three movies were all set for Diwali release, which were Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran, Jayam Ravi’s Brother, and Kavin’s Bloody Beggar.

Before a few years, Tamil cinema will have any one big movie as a Diwali special; it will be either a Vijay movie, a Rajinikanth movie, or an Ajith Kumar movie. After 2021 Diwali continuously for the past three years, including this year, Kollywood doesn’t have any biggies as a Diwali special.

In 2021, as a Diwali special, Rajinikanth’s Annathe was released in theatres and ended up as a disaster, and after that, only Tier-2 actor’s movies were released as a Diwali special in theatres.

This year Kollywood will have Sivakarthikeyan’s most anticipated Amaran movie directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, who was recognised for his Rangoon movie. Jayam Ravi’s Brother is directed by Rajesh, who is known for his comedies such as Siva Manasula Shakthi and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.

Also, Kavin’s Bloody Beggar was expected to be released as a Diwali special. As the three movies were medium-budget movies, all three movies will acquire a proper screen count, and the content will decide who is going to be the Diwali winner.

Many audiences mentioned in their comments on social media that without biggies in Kollywood, Diwali doesn’t get fulfilled. Let us hope next year in Kollywood a big star’s movie will release on Diwali.
