After the critically acclaimed Kuberaa, Dhanush is back with Idli Kadai, scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 1st. The trailer, released two days ago, created a significant buzz, and the film has received a clean U certificate from the censors.
Unlike his recent movies, Idli Kadai is releasing during a festival. October 1st is Ayudha Puja, followed by Gandhi Jayanti on October 2nd, giving the film a five-day long weekend. Experts suggest this “lottery” release could boost box office collections even if the film is average.
However, Dhanush’s previous directorial ventures have struggled with audiences. Many still consider Raayan, his highest-grossing directorial film, a lottery hit because, despite good collections, its content was below expectations, making some label him a failed director.
With Red Giant distributing the film in Tamil Nadu, Idli Kadai will have a solid screen count. After many years, Dhanush is also doing proper promotions, aiming to draw audiences and create a strong opening weekend.
The stage is set for Idli Kadai to make an impact at the box office. If the audience responds well, the film has the potential to become a major success and satisfy expectations during its festival release on October 1st.
