A few days ago, Sundar C confirmed that he will not direct Rajinikanth’s 173rd film. There is still no official clarity on who will take charge of this highly awaited project.
Strong rumours now suggest that Dhanush has narrated a script to Rajinikanth for the film. Reports claim the Superstar has almost given his approval, and an official announcement may be made soon.
Even though it is only speculation, many Kollywood fans are already excited. They have started creating fan edits and posts celebrating the possible collaboration.
However, some viewers are not happy with the rumour. They feel Dhanush is not the best choice as a director and that his films, except Power Paandi, have not been appealing.
They argue that although Dhanush is a pure fan of Rajinikanth, he may not be able to deliver a mass commercial entertainer. According to them, Dhanush is stronger at directing light hearted films.
They also mention Raayan, his first mass action attempt. Even though it was a box office success, many consider it an average film. This adds to their belief that Dhanush may not be the perfect choice for Rajinikanth’s 173rd film.
At the moment, no official confirmation has been given. Fans must wait to see whether Dhanush will direct the film and how the project will develop if it moves forward.
