Director Shankar was going through a bad patch after Indian 2 turned out to be a massive disaster, marking one of the biggest flops of his career. To make matters worse, Game Changer also suffered a similar fate at the box office.
Now, he is determined to complete Indian 3 and change the negative perception surrounding him.
Reports suggest that Shankar is eager to wrap up the Indian 3 and is currently waiting for Kamal Haasan’s dates. Earlier, rumors claimed that Lyca Productions had backed out, with Red Giant stepping in to finish the project.
Now, fresh updates indicate that Shankar and the producers have reviewed the film’s edited version and are discussing the additional scenes required to complete it.
Kamal Haasan has reportedly asked Shankar to finalize the necessary shots before approaching him for dates. The actor recently wrapped up his work on Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life.
He is all set to begin his next project, directed by action choreographer Anbarivu. In the meantime, he completed an AI course and is currently on a short vacation abroad.
Once Kamal returns and allocates dates, the team is expected to shoot for around 20-25 days. Producers have also advised Shankar to trim unnecessary portions and reshoot if needed.
However, the big question remains—when and where will Indian 3 release? If Kamal Haasan doesn’t give his nod, the film might never see the light of day, either in theaters or on OTT, and could end up shelved forever.
