Following the two back-to-back disasters of Kanguva and Retro, Suriya is returning with Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, which is planning to release this Diwali.

While some viewers are sharing extremely positive responses after the teaser, stating that RJ Balaji has utilized Suriya very well and that the teaser promises Karuppu will be a mass masala commercial entertainer for Suriya after a long time.

In contrast, some people feel that the teaser looks mediocre, pointing out that the Karuppu plot appears similar to Mookuthi Amman.

However, Mookuthi Amman worked well due to its simplicity, whereas Karuppu seems loud and more massy. Therefore, if the fantasy elements and the mass portions don’t blend well, it has a chance to end up as a failure.

Despite the mixed responses, some Telugu trackers commented that it’s good Suriya has dubbed it in Telugu, but it would have been better if the Karuppu team released it with a Telugu title, as it’s also named Karuppu in Telugu.

Nevertheless, the Karuppu teaser generated significant buzz for the movie, and it remains to be seen whether it satisfies audience expectations, emerges as a blockbuster success, and helps Suriya make a comeback upon its release.
