Yesterday, Keerthy Suresh’s Revolver Rita team officially announced, through a teaser, that the movie is going to be released on August 27th.

After the release date announcement teaser, many trade experts were surprised because the teaser included Netflix’s logo, indicating that the team had already sold the OTT rights to Netflix.

In response, trade experts commented on social media that an OTT deal going through before release is a huge relief for any producer these days, and a small film like this would recover most of its production cost from the OTT streamer itself.

Also, nowadays many medium-budget movies are struggling to sell their OTT rights to streaming platforms, but despite being a medium-budget movie, Revolver Rita has already been sold to Netflix, which is truly a good thing for the movie before its release.

The Revolver Rita team would have signed the OTT deal with Netflix with a four-week OTT window, so if the movie is released on August 27th, it will most probably be streamed on the Netflix OTT platform in the third or fourth week of September.

Irrespective of business, the success of Revolver Rita is crucial for Keerthy Suresh, as for the past few years, none of her movies has ended up as a successful venture. Also, her last release, Baby John, her debut Bollywood movie, ended up as a terrible disaster.

So, Revolver Rita has to do well, by which Keerthy Suresh could make a comeback. At the same time, some people are questioning that even Keerthy Suresh’s male-centric movies like Baby John and Siren ended up as failures; in this case, how a women-centric movie like Revolver Rita will become a successful venture.
