Demonte Colony-2 is a sequel to the blockbuster movie Demonte Colony released in 2015. This two-part movie was directed by Ajay Gnanamuthy, and Arulnidhi appeared in a lead role in this movie. This movie opens with a smaller number of screens as it clashes with Thangalaan, but with positive word of mouth, the shows were increasing, and the occupancy was even higher than Thangalaan.

The first 6 months of this year didn’t have any blockbuster movies until Sundar C’s Aranmanai-4 was released. Aranmanai-4 has done wonders in the box office collections and became the first blockbuster movie of this year in Kollywood. Similarly, everyone expected Thangalaan, but Demonte Colony-2 came out of nowhere and became a hit. After Demonte Colony-2’s hit, many trackers mentioned that horror movies opened up with huge numbers like star movies, and the box office collections were also on par with top actor movies.

This indicates that Tamil cinema audiences love to watch horror movies in theatres even though the movie doesn’t have a star actor. Let’s see if these box office streaks continue too in the upcoming good Tamil horror movies.
