Not a 1000-Crore Film, But Coolie is ₹150 Well Spent

Lokesh Kanagaraj recently opened up about the box office number games and the expectations on Coolie to achieve the 1000 crore mark in box office collections, in a viral interview.

He stated that only the hero, producer, and director of the movie should be concerned about a movie’s collection, because if a movie becomes a blockbuster success, their salaries will be multiplied.

He further mentioned that when Leo collected more than 600 crores worldwide, which is why he was paid 50 crores as a salary for Coolie. He added, ‘I’m not concerned about whether Coolie will collect ₹1000 crores or not, but I am concerned about the ₹150 audiences spend to watch the movie.”

Following this, many netizens responded that this is why Lokesh Kanagaraj is celebrated by a huge number of audiences. While every other big director is concerned about their salaries and a movie’s box office success, he is the only director concentrating on satisfying the audience who spend ₹150 to watch the movie.

Coolie is having huge expectations among audiences, and it remains to be seen whether it satisfies these expectations, emerges as a blockbuster success, and becomes the first Kollywood movie to achieve the ₹1000 crore mark in box office collections.
