This is getting proven , particularly in the case of Tamil film industry as two film old hero Pradeep Ranganathan is now poised to beat the lifetime collections of Tamil star Ajith Kumar.
Incidentally, Ajith Kumar recently had a new release in the form of Vidaamuyarchi. This film had a stylish Content, but it could not impress the audience and ended up as a failure. It reportedly grossed in the range of ₹84 crore.
To put that into perspective, Pradeep Ranganathan, who had a new release recently in the form of Dragon is now in pole position to beat the lifetime collections of Ajith’s film.
The Tamil Nadu gross of Dragon is reportedly ₹75 crore as compared to the Rs 84 crore of Vidaamuyarchi. It must be a matter of time before Pradeep beats the collections of Ajith’s film industry Tamil Nadu.
The very fact that a two film old hero is in position to beat a legacy superstar in Tamil shows the changing trend.
More importantly, the responsibility is on Ajith Kumar to take his legacy seriously. In terms of stardom and fan following, he is next only to Thalapathy Vijay, but the box office performance of his films has been suggesting anything, but that.
On a positive note for Ajith’s fans, he has a good film industry the form of Good Bad Ugly which is projected to revive his market. Ajith must surely be touching ₹200 crore mark with this film industry order to reinstate his lost sheen.
