Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar Tamil Debut
The Malayalam film Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar starring Parvathy Thiruvothu and Mathew Thomas in the lead roles and directed by Shahad Nilambur, was released in theatres on 11th September and received super positive responses from audiences and critics.
With super positive word of mouth, Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar emerged as a successful venture and collected more than 50 crores at the box office.
Following its successful theatrical run, Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar was released on the Netflix OTT platform with a 4 week OTT window on 9th October. Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar is performing well on OTT as well and many viewers are calling it the best Malayalam thriller of the year.
In this scenario, the makers of Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar have now decided to release the Tamil dubbed version of the film with the title PDK on October 23rd, officially announcing it with a special poster.
In response to this announcement, many trade experts were surprised and are severely trolling the makers of Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar, claiming that releasing the Tamil version of the film after its OTT release is a dumb move.
They feel that if the makers really wanted to cash in on the Tamil market, they should have released the Tamil version alongside the original version’s theatrical release. Moreover, they point out that audiences nowadays are willing to watch a film in its original language if it receives positive feedback.
Hence, they suggest that most of the Tamil audience has already watched the original version of Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar and note that this dumb move is a waste of money for the makers.
Ultimately, amid the negative reactions from audiences and trade experts, it remains to be seen how Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar’s Tamil version PDK will perform at the box office and whether it can emerge as a hit in Tamil Nadu upon release.
