Sequel to Thalapathy Vijay’s Disaster: Fans Panic

Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time directed by Venkat Prabhu was released in theatres on September 5th and received mixed responses from the audiences.

Despite the mixed reviews, The GOAT became the highest-grossing movie of Kollywood last year, and also the movie ended with a lead for the sequel.

Recently, Venkat Prabhu appeared at an award function where the anchor of the show asked him for an update on The GOAT’s sequel, GOAT vs. OG.

Venkat Prabhu replied, sarcastically that he will provide an update about the sequel for The GOAT after 2026.

This has become viral now, and netizens on social media commented that Venkat Prabhu’s comment means that Vijay will not succeed in the 2026 elections and will return to acting, so GOAT vs. OG will be started by 2026.

Conversely, some Vijay fans commented that Venkat Prabhu has expressed it sarcastically, and he knows that there won’t be a possibility to direct the sequel for The GOAT.

Regardless, Venkatesh Prabhu’s reply at the award function has sparked a heated debate on social media; it remains to be seen when Vijay returns to acting after the 2026 elections or if Venkat Prabhu’s comment was simply a joke, in the future.
