Star Kid’s Terrible Disappointment Over OTT Release

Dhruv Vikram, son of actor Vikram, is returning with Bison, directed by Mari Selvaraj, which releases worldwide on October 17 as a Diwali special. The actor is busy promoting the film through interviews and public events.

In one such interview, Dhruv opened up about his disappointment over Mahaan’s direct OTT release. The statement quickly went viral on social media, sparking debate among movie lovers.

Dhruv said he had wanted Mahaan to release in theatres and was deeply disappointed when it went straight to OTT. He added that although he loved working with his father, the film’s negative tone created distance between them, and its OTT release made their efforts feel wasted.

Many fans supported Dhruv’s view, saying Mahaan deserved a big-screen experience. They praised the film as one of Karthik Subbaraj’s best works and agreed that it would have performed well theatrically.

However, others disagreed. They argued that Mahaan was an average film and its OTT release was a smart move that avoided a potential box-office failure. Some also felt the OTT deal ensured profits for the team instead of losses.

Dhruv Vikram’s remarks have since gone viral, dividing opinions among fans. While some relate to his disappointment, others believe the OTT route helped Mahaan more than it hurt. The discussion continues to trend across social media platforms.
