Yesterday, Ajith Kumar’s most anticipated Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, was released in theatres and has received mixed responses from audiences.
Karthik Subbaraj, the director of Suriya’s next anticipated Retro, shared a positive review for Vidaamuyarchi after watching the movie, which shocked Suriya fans.
Karthik Subbaraj on his X account has posted that “Vidaamuyarchi, an interesting action thriller, is technically well made with superb action sequences and nice performances by Ajith Kumar and Trisha”.
After Karthik Subbaraj’s positive response to Vidaamuyarchi, Suriya fans were shocked and responded that Vidaamuyarchi is one of the worst movies in recent times. For Karthik Subbaraj, this itself felt like an interesting action thriller. Then how will he be made Retro?
Apart from the Suriya fans, some netizens on social media are also trashing Karthik Subbaraj’s review of the movie, mentioning that celebrities should not post these kinds of positive responses for a worse movie, as it will break the audience’s trust.
However, Vidaamuyarchi’s mixed responses on Day 1 were impacted as a major letdown in the second-day bookings, as many centers in Tamil Nadu were reported to have average bookings on Day 2. Let us see how it’s going to perform in box office collections in the coming days.
