Sasi Kumar’s Tourist Family, directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth, was released in theaters on May 1st and has received positive responses from audiences and critics.
Many viewers, after watching Tourist Family in theaters, have commented it as one of the best Kollywood movies in recent years. Apart from the Kollywood audience, many popular celebrities have also praised the movie.
Now, legendary director S. S. Rajamouli has also appreciated the movie. S. S. Rajamouli on his X account posted that the Tourist Family is “heartwarming and packed with rib-tickling humor” and thanked the team for presenting “the best cinematic experience in recent years.”
Even though the Tourist Family was appreciated by many popular celebrities, Rajamouli’s appreciation made Tamil audiences elated and happier. Rajamouli calling it “Thank you for the best cinematic experience in recent years” clearly indicates the impact the Tourist Family made on him.
Kollywood audiences feel that Rajamouli’s appreciation is genuine and unlike a lot of PR that happens because of obligations.
Also, Tourist Family is doing a rampage in the box office collections. According to reports, the movie has collected around 55 crores in Tamil Nadu alone, which is a significant achievement despite being a small to medium-budget movie, say trade analysts.
