Ajith Kumar’s most anticipated Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, has finally been released today in theatres and is receiving mixed responses from audiences.
Despite having a star actor like Ajith Kumar, Magizh Thirumeni has delivered a content-oriented thriller movie without the usual mass masala commercial package.
Initially, after the trailer, there was a strong buzz that Vidaamuyarchi is an official remake of the Hollywood movie Breakdown, and yes, it’s almost a scene-by-scene remake till the first half, which is fairly engaging.
But Magizh Thirumeni almost changed the second half of the movie from the original breakdown, which is a major reason for the Vidaamuyarchi’s letdown in the second half, say the critics after watching the movie.
Even though Ajith Kumar delivered a good acting performance and Anirudh Ravichander tried his best with strong background scores, because of the flat, predictable screenplay in the second half of the movie the movie felt average, say the netizens.
However, Vidaamuyarchi has started its theatrical run with a solid opening on Day 1; let us see how the movie is going to perform in the coming days.
