Vijay Teams with Eccentric Director? Right or Wrong Choice

Vijay Sethupathi is currently going through a crucial phase in his career after the disappointing performances of Gandhi Talks and Kadhal Kadhai Sollava. Despite the setbacks, the actor continues to stay busy with multiple interesting projects in Tamil cinema.

Vijay Sethupathi is currently working on a romantic film directed by Mani Ratnam. He is also playing an important role in Arasan starring Simbu and directed by Vetrimaaran.

Before joining Arasan, Vijay Sethupathi had already completed shooting for Train directed by Mysskin. However, the film reportedly faced financial issues, leading to delays in its release. So far, there has been no official update regarding the project’s theatrical plans.

Amid this situation, strong speculation is now circulating in Kollywood circles about Vijay Sethupathi potentially collaborating with Bala for a rooted emotional drama. Reports suggest that story discussions for the project are progressing rapidly behind the scenes.

According to industry discussions, directors Raju Murugan and Muthaiah are also said to be involved in the development process. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the project from the actor or filmmakers so far.

The rumours have created mixed reactions among cinema audiences and industry followers. Some viewers believe the collaboration could help Bala deliver a strong comeback because the filmmaker is known for extracting intense performances from talented actors.

At the same time, a section of audiences is expressing concern over Vijay Sethupathi’s recent choice of collaborators. They feel the actor currently needs a major comeback and should focus on working with younger filmmakers who bring fresher storytelling styles.

These concerns are mainly connected to the recent reception received by Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life and Bala’s Vanangaan. Some critics believe both veteran directors are struggling to reconnect with current audience expectations and changing cinematic trends.

Because of this, a few industry observers feel Vijay Sethupathi may be taking creative risks during an important stage of his career. Nevertheless, others argue that experienced filmmakers can still deliver memorable films with the right story and performances.

For now, the proposed Vijay Sethupathi and Bala project remains purely speculative. It remains to be seen whether the collaboration officially materialises and how the film eventually shapes up if production moves forward.
