Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai: Nivin’s Tamil Curse Continues?

The long pending Kollywood film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, starring Nivin Pauly and Soori in the lead roles was finally released in theatres today and is receiving disastrous responses from audiences and critics.

Since all the previous movies of director Ram were unique and had a cult fan base, many people expected that Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai would also be a solid film.

However, shockingly, seems like Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai ended up as a terrible disappointment. Many viewers, after watching the film, claimed that even though the plot of the film was unique, the poor screenplay and the terrible usage of AI made Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai a disappointing film.

They also claim that this time, Ram’s unusual storytelling didn’t help and most of the sequences in the film failed to hold their attention. Overall, they claim that Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai is a terrible watch.

Including the recently released Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, Nivin Pauly has so far acted in three Tamil films, among which only one film Neram was a successful venture. Meanwhile, the remaining two films, Richie and Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, ended up as terrible disappointments.

Even though Richie at least received a decent reception from critics and many people appreciated Nivin Pauly’s performance in the film, for Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, no one is even speaking about Nivin Pauly’s performance because of the poor film.

Also, both lead actors Nivin Pauly and Soori, were on a winning streak, as Nivin Pauly’s last two films, Sarvam Maya and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, were huge commercial successes and Soori’s last two films, Maaman and Mandaadi, were also successful ventures. However, Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai has put an end to their success streak.

Ultimately, with the disastrous reviews, it remains to be seen how Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai is going to perform at the box office in the following days and whether it will at least achieve the break-even mark in its final run.
