They cited a tweet by Elon Musk himself from 2020 which read,”U.S. law requires at least a green card to be hired at SpaceX, as rockets are advanced weapons technology.”
In defense, Elon Musk has claimed that the company was repeatedly told that hiring anyone who is not a US citizen would violate international arms trafficking law and would be a criminal offense.
The State is seeking consideration and back pay for the asylees and refugees who were discriminated against. The lawsuit also demands a civil penalty levied on the company.
