Starting today, Google Search is getting a major upgrade with the launch of its new AI Mode. This fresh feature promises to transform how users interact with search results.
With AI Mode enabled, users can now ask follow-up questions right inside Google Search just like chatting with an assistant. This means you no longer have to type the full question again. Google will understand the context and give you smarter, more conversational responses.
The AI Mode is powered by generative AI, which helps deliver more precise, summarized, and personalized results.
For example, if you search for best laptops for students and then ask, What about battery life?, Google will instantly know you’re still talking about student laptops.
Users will see a new interface with highlighted AI-powered answers, and regular links will still be shown below for deeper browsing.
This update is part of Google’s broader push to compete with AI platforms like ChatGPT and Bing Chat. The company is aiming to make search more intelligent, interactive, and useful.
Currently, the rollout is starting in select countries and languages, with wider availability expected soon.
It’s a big step forward one where search begins to feel more like a conversation than just a list of links.
