Intel’s New AI Technology

Hala Point, an AI system modelled like the human brain, was created by Intel to handle the growing processing needs and environmental effects of AI systems. It expands on Intel’s Pohoiki Springs system at Sandia National Laboratories, enhancing neuron performance and capacity.

Hala Point surpasses conventional GPU and CPU designs with its 20 quadrillion operations per second performance, thanks to its engineering and integration of Intel’s Loihi 2 processor.

A potential tool for real-time AI applications, such as demanding computing tasks in scientific research and infrastructure management, is Sandia National Laboratories’ neuromorphic system, Hala Point.

It serves as a testbed for commercial products for continuous learning in machine learning models and is utilised for research on advanced computing.

As a component of Intel’s sustainability initiatives, Hala Point showcases how neuromorphic computing may lower energy usage in data-intensive processes.
