Reddit And Google Partners Up For AI

In a historical deal, Google and Reddit has joined hands to improve the AI techs that we have at present.

The partnership has cost Google $60 million that will allow it access to human conversations to train its AI models. It will improve the way Google’s search engine works. Reddit had reported its first profit in two years at $18.5 million. It is a big deal for Reddit given it has plans to get listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

This arrangement will not change how reddit functions on the user-end. According to a report, Reddit will still follow the same terms and conditions like before and Google will comply with that. For instance, Reddit does not use algorithm to suggest content to users, rather users have to search what they want to see, unlike most other websites. Another difference between Reddit and other websites is that if something is deleted by a user, it gets permanently deleted with no ghostly remnants.

Google will definitely get the better deal out of this given the amount of human generated data Reddit has. It may take some time to see the changes, if any, this deal will have on Reddit.
