If you are using a Samsung smartphone or there’s someone you know who uses one then you definitely need to read this. The government of India has issued an alert for Samsung users concerning potential security threats. The warning has been issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team which is the security advisory under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
The threat is issued for Samsung users having Android version 11,12,13 and 14. The devices are vulnerable to security threats and attackers can access sensitive information from the phone because of it. The current security restrictions on the phone can be bypassed by the hackers exposing sensitive information to them.
The glitch can even allow attackers to execute arbitrary codes on the target phone. The government has urged all users to fix the issue by updating their security patch on the phone.
There has been no comments from Samsung on the matter so far. However, Samsung Security has acknowledged the threat rolling out a security firmware bundled with Google’s Android patch for December. It is advised to update your security patch as early as possible.
